The Zoo at 1.4

I recently picked up Nikon's 50mm f1.4 lens and decided to head over to The Calgary Zoo and take a bunch of shots, all in 1.4. After some trial and error (mostly error) I managed to come out with a handful of decent photos. I don't think I've ever been to The Zoo during the winter but after this trip I'm sure I'll be back a couple of times before winter is finished. There's so many indoor exhibits that I hardly spent any time outdoors, it was a pretty cold day and really the only time I felt it was running from one building to the next.
I had a chance to check out the new Enmax Conservatory and I have to say that it was a huge let down, it doesn't even compare to what it replaced. I remember being a little kid and going to the zoo and one of the highlights of the trip was always the huge indoor garden that was so full of butterflies that they would land on you if you were still enough. It's such a shame because you can tell that they put tons of money into the new conservatory but all it really ends up being is a couple of small indoor gardens..but that's enough about that.
Here's a short video I made of the fish at The Zoo. Head over here to watch it in Supreme Definition.
Check out my flickr stream too, I recently received a pro account as a christmas gift from a friend of mine and vowed to update it more often.
